Where and when does my night on the Boomerang start?
The party starts at 9pm at The Front Page in Arlington on Fridays, and at 9pm at Rumors in DuPont Circle on Saturdays. All of the detailed addresses and directions will be on your ticket, along with a map.
Where and when does my night on the Boomerang end?
The Boomerang usually leaves the last bar between 1:30 - 2:00am, returning you back safely to our starting location. You party host will give you all the important times that you’ll need to make sure you make it back on board at the end of the night. Please note that all of our starting locations are Metro accessible. We encourage you to take either the Metro, a taxi, or walk to your final destination safely. All Boomerang tours are designed to be Metro friendly to make you trip as easy and safe as possible. There are always taxis at the Metro stations, so even if you drove in to meet us, you don't have to drive home.
What if I’d like to meet at the DC location on a Friday, or the Arlington location on a Saturday? Would the Boomerang make a special pick up for me?
If you would like the alternative pick up, please contact us via email and we will let you know if it is possible. Usually we require at least 15 people for us to make the alternative pick up & drop off, but we are flexible and accommodating, so please keep us posted on what you would like and we will let you know if we can make it happen!
What exactly happens when we “check-in” at the start of the night?
Once you check-in with your Boomerang Hosts, you will receive a Boomerang wristband and an itinerary of the bars & clubs we will be visiting that evening. You will need the wristband to board the Boomerang, and to receive the perks at all of our bars and clubs we visit throughout the night, including the one we meet in. You will also be told what time the group is boarding the Boomerang Bus to start the night’s adventure, so it is important to “check-in” as soon as you arrive at our starting location.
Can I buy a ticket at check-in?
The Boomerang Bus usually sells out in advance, so unfortunately the answer is most likely no. However, we never want anyone to miss out on a trip on the Boomerang, so if there is a “no show”, we would be willing to sell a ticket on the spot.
I have a group of friends signing up - will you make sure we are all on the same bus?
Of course! When you purchase a ticket, it is required that you answer two questions. 1. Are you signing up with friends or as part of a group? 2. If so, about how many people are you expecting and who is the group organizer?
This information helps us keep your party together on the same Boomerang Bus. If this information is not provided, we will most likely contact you to make sure we don’t separate anyone from their friends.
Who will be on board the Boomerang during the tour?
On every trip there will be two or three employees of Boomerang Tours. There will be a licensed and experienced driver, as well as one or two fun and outrageous party directors. Their job is to entertain you all night on and off the bus so that you have a great experience! Be ready to dance and shake things up because this will be a night you won’t forget. In addition to the Boomerang Team, there will be anywhere from 15 - 40 other guests partying on board the Boomerang with you!
Which bars and clubs do we visit?
After departing from our “check-in bar”, we will venture on to visit 3 additional bars & clubs in many different DC neighborhoods on every trip. We continually rotate the bars we use so that you can have a unique and fun experience on each trip. We stay at each bar for just over an hour and you will be able to talk, dance, and meet other fun people at all of our stops. Bars are not selected until the day of each trip for many reasons, so no advanced notice is available. Please check out our Partners page to view a list of the hot spots we visit, and feel free to include requests in your message when you purchase your ticket.
Can I suggest or request my favorite bar or club?
Yes! If you would like to suggest or request a specific bar or club from our Partners page, please include this as a message to the Boomerang Team when you purchase your ticket, or in an email to us after you have purchased your ticket (info@ridetheboomerang.com). We can't completely guarantee a stop at this destination since various things (private functions, special events, poor weather, multiple guest requests) pop up, so it is always helpful to list at least five of your favorite choices when making a request.
Do the bars and clubs have any dress codes I should know about?
Yes. We work with a long list of venues and many of the bars & clubs we visit will not allow guests in if they are wearing athletic sneakers, baseball hats, Timberlands, baggy T-shirts, athletic wear, and men’s flip flops. These are not Boomerang policies, but those of many of the bars and clubs that we visit throughout the night, so please plan ahead so your entrance will be guaranteed upon our arrival.
How much does the Boomerang cost?
A Boomerang ticket is $33.00. This includes 5 hours of entertainment, all of your cover charges, VIP line to enter all of our bars & clubs, drink specials at most of our stops, a lively tour of DC's best neighborhoods, transportation all night, a safe ride, great music, fun & dancing on board DC's best party bus in between stops, and the opportunity to meet lots of other people who are out to have fun!
I want to have a party on board with a huge group. What steps should I take to make this happen?
Once you’ve chosen which night you want to celebrate on board the Boomerang, the easiest approach is to create an Evite or an email to send out to all of your friends getting them excited about the Boomerang Party Bus (many people cut and paste straight from our ticketing page or website). Include a link to our online calendar of events (www.zerve.com/Boomerang/Calendar), the date you are having your party, and a note asking them all to reference your party when they purchase their tickets. If you then send us an email (info@ridetheboomerang.com), we can keep you posted on your guest list & if the bus is starting to get full. You can also email us about any bar or club requests that you may have, or anything else that comes up.
Can I purchase tickets for everyone in my group?
Yes! Many party organizers do that to prevent the bus from selling out before everyone in their group has purchased a ticket. Please do make sure that your guests are aware of all of the policies associated with the activity.
Is there a group discount available?
Most people that come on the Boomerang are in groups, so we have already factored that into the cost of the ticket. If you have a guaranteed group of 30 people or more, then there are discounts available. Check out the Private Charters page for all of that information.
Do tours sell out, and if so is there a waiting list?
Tours do sell out, and often well in advance, so once you decide on a date, please make sure to purchase your tickets before we sell out. We rarely have “no shows”, so it is not common for us to keep a waiting list.
Can I go on the tour alone, or do I need a group?
Either way is always a lot of fun! We have many singles that come on board. Not only will you meet and interact with all the other guests on the bus, but you will meet people at the bars too. If you do plan to come on with a group, make sure to buy your tickets plenty in advance because the trips do sell out.
Are guests allowed to drink on the Boomerang?
Yes. Every Boomerang event is 21+ (unless otherwise noted) and you are able to BYOB to these events. The Boomerang does not provide any alcohol on the bus, and if you choose to bring your own alcohol on the bus, it must stay on the bus (it is illegal to exit the bus with any open container in your possession). Please also keep in mind that the bus is almost always full, so please don’t bring anything too big on board with you (We’ll need our dancing room!), and since most people are up dancing, glass is not allowed on board the Boomerang Party Bus, for your safety.
If I want to bring beverages and other goods with me on the bus, how do I get them past the bouncers at the first bar for check in?
Our partner bars are great about working with the Boomerang and our riders. They know that you will be carrying “goods” to bring on board and depending on what you are bringing with you; they may have you leave your goods outside with a bouncer. However, if your goods are in a bag and “out of sight”, they usually allow you to bring them in and store them in a specific area inside until it is time to board the bus. Either way, they know the scenario and are very accommodating! Please remember not to bring anything too big with you since our buses are usually full and you don’t want anyone’s belonging taking up space on the dance floor!
Will I be able to order food at the meeting location?
Yes! Both the Front Page and Rumors have a full menu and great food. Lots of guests arrive early to enjoy a meal or appetizers before the trip begins!
Can I smoke on the bus?
No, there is no smoking allowed on the Boomerang Bus.
Can I leave my belongings on the bus while I am in inside a bar?
Yes. However, Boomerang Tours is not responsible for any items that are left on the bus or in the bars, or taken from the bus or from the bars, so please exercise care and remember that you don’t need to bring much to enjoy the Boomerang!
How do I know when to leave each bar/club to get back on the bus?
Your party host will announce what time the bus will be leaving each bar/club upon arrival at each bar/club.
What if I miss the bus at a certain location?
If you should miss the bus at any of our stops, you can catch up with the group at the next location. You will receive an itinerary at check-in which lists the stops for the night, so everyone will know exactly where we are heading.
I bought a ticket, but I can’t make the check in time, can I meet you at the first bar?
Yes! You can have a friend notify us at check in, or you can email us in advance. We will bring your wristband and itinerary with us and check you in at our first bar, or along the way.
Do you have a partner hotel that will give Boomerang riders a discount?
Yes! We have partnered with the Hotel Madera in DuPont Circle. The Hotel Madera will give all Boomerang riders the special rate of 15% off of their best available rate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. To book at the discounted rates guests must go to http://www.hotelmadera.com and select reservations on the top left. Then enter the rate code BUS on the reservations page on the bottom left.
We have partnered with the Madera to enhance your stay in DC, to encourage guests to stay off the road, and to make your night on the town even more memorable! Enjoy, it’s an amazing hotel!
What is the average age of Boomerang guests?
The success of this tour is not determined by age, but by the camaraderie on board and the desire to have a great night out on the town! However, all guests must be at least 21 years of age to participate.
Can I rent out the Boomerang bus for a private party?
Yes, you can purchase all the available tickets for a trip. A lot of our groups, however, find that it's a lot more fun to join the other guests on one of our public tours to make the celebration that much larger (and cheaper for your group)! Our Boomerang Party Buses can hold up to 40 guests. If you're interested in booking a private tour or chartering a Boomerang Bus, please read our Private Charters page for more information.
Do you have a refund policy?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed at the event. If for any reason we are forced to cancel any of our tours due to weather, technical problems or due to any other unexpected circumstances we will try to reschedule you for a different date, or issue a full refund.
Is there a bathroom on the Boomerang?
To maximize seating and dancing room, there were no bathrooms installed on the Boomerang Buses. Think of it as a limo!
Does the Boomerang have heating and air conditioning?
The Boomerang has amazing heat in the colder months and this is a huge plus during the winter! In the summer, we keep our windows down and our roof hatches up to ensure a beautiful summer breeze.
